SAS – The nature of innovation

Project summary

Together with Rik Vera, CEO of nexxworks, Studio Transitio organised a two day bio-inspired innovation session for business executives organised by SAS, Analytics software & solutions in the beautiful Chateau of St Gerlach. Nowadays, organisations are behaving much more like biological networks but most of them are still operating like hierarchical machines. The old organisational structures however are preventing them to adapt to the increasingly volatile innovation ecosystem. Participants of this 2-day innovation session where exposed to nature’s R&D library as well as the key strategies for making business transformation processes a success. A multitude of examples was highlighted to showcase that innovating like nature is the best strategy to improve energy and materials efficiency, to create internal innovation ecosystems and that imitating the time-tested strategies of nature makes business sense, as many pioneering companies are not only getting return on investments, but also return on reputation.
