Swedish Environment Agency – Transformative Infrastructure Innovation Competition
Can we design a zero carbon bridge? Can we bring business competitors, academics and policymakers together in a collaborative innovation network? These are the two starting points of a highly innovative design competition organised by the Swedish Environment Agency. I was honoured to give a biomimicry keynote to the group showcasing how millions of years of field tests have resulted in incredible durable, sustainable and responsive designs, ranging from the product, process to the systems level. In the workshops afterwards the teams were introduced to biomimicry design thinking tools, some great real life infrastructural examples from nature & design lessons to create strength, performance & adaptability with minimum input to maximum effect. Curious what the teams will come up with!
